The following features and options are available at the outset. Terms and conditions apply subject to underwriting – for further details please refer to the relevant key features document.
- Single or joint life cover
- Maximum sum assured
There is no minimum sum assured for Critical Illness Cover.
The maximum sum assured is dependent on which Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) definition is selected. If TPD own occupation is selected, the maximum sum assured is £2 million. This increases to £3 million if TPD Functional Assessment Tests (FATs) are selected. A lower figure of £1 million applies for indexed Family and Personal Income Plan (FPIP) policies
- Waiver of premium benefit
If waiver of premium benefit is selected at the outset,
Legal & General will pay
the policyholder’s premiums after the first 26 weeks, if they cannot work as a
result of illness or injury, as outlined in the key features document. There is an
additional cost for this benefit.
- Guaranteed or reviewable premium options
Depending on the product selected, premiums can be guaranteed for the term of the policy or reviewable every 5 years. Reviewable premiums may increase in the future.
Guaranteed premiums or reviewable premiums will change if you exercise your guaranteed insurability option or choose the indexation option (FPIP plans only) at the outset.
- Immediate cover facility
Our immediate cover facility means a policy can go on risk before all the necessary medical evidence is obtained. This is useful when cover is needed urgently, for example, to help protect a mortgage or other loan. This applies to all types of life and critical illness cover.
- Monthly or annual premiums
Premiums can be paid monthly by direct debit or annually by direct debit.
